Get Ready for the Big Screen

 I was also in charge of driving Britanique today. After I had picked her up I needed to get some supplies I had run out of in order to do the makeup for the sequence. We made a pit stop at party city to get the supplies and a snack before the shoot. We finally arrived at Eden's house to film at 5:30 p.m. This time we went upstairs quickly and got started. First, she introduced us to her sister. I was in charge of makeup and styling her sister to play the part of our antagonist in the film. 

I started by applying a base primer to her skin. This would prevent any staining when I would eventually be using heavy products. Then I started making outlines of all the fake bruising I would create. Next, I added in shading which would give the bruises depth, and applied the fake horns. Finally, I added in the fake blood. This always brings the look together. I finished up her makeup and put on her wig. To style it I messed it up a bit and allowed the horns to peak through. One thing I assisted with for filming was producing the laugh during the shoot. Our actor could not be serious so me and Britanique created the evil laugh needed. I also assisted with setting up the shots and ensuring the lighting is consistent as I usually do. After a long day of filming, we decided we needed to get dinner. Me and Britanique ate at this little dinner downtown. I got a salad and she got chicken. Overall the food was really good.

Clips and Time Crunching

   Now that we’ve finished filming, it’s time to head to our tried-and-true editing app, CapCut. We’ve used this for every project, and I’d like to think we were successful. The first step is adding the clips into the software in order. Despite how simple this may seem, searching through all the videos is difficult. We have to make sure it’s the right clip and place it in the right spot regarding the order. Then it’s time to eliminate time. That’s the most heartbreaking part. You spend hours acting, getting lines, and making sure your costume is correct. Only to have to cut scenes because they take us over time.   When we put the original clips together, we had 7 minutes and 42 seconds. A lot of time is extra. We start filming slightly before and slightly after to make we catch everything. So that cuts down a good chunk of time. Tracking shots are used to show a character being watched or followed. Tilted angels often are added to add dramatic tension in a scene.
