The Babys Here!

I've had so much fun filming this project with my group. It has been a real challenge learning how to work with others' schedules and lifestyles. This process has been an adventure. I am very proud of what my group and I accomplished. However, it was not exactly what I envisioned. My groupmates and I get along amazingly, and we had the prettiest filming locations. We did stray from the storyboard but I think the video still turned out great. I had the most fun at the Marina watching the boats go down the water. The park was also nice and it was very secluded which gave it a nice ambience. Overall, I enjoyed myself and think my group and I put the best work forward possible.

Back at it Again

I've started editing the clips of the film together. The group has been making significant progress on the music video. I have finally finished the audio. And am now matching up the clips we got to the beats of the music, creating a story. However, the time is coming short and not how the video was envisioned. I went through the clips we had previously got, and they were out of focus and did not have a concise story. So each of us in the group is going out separately and doing more filming. I suggested we film separately because we could get the most filming time and work on our own schedules.  I filmed at the local Fort Lauderdale Intercoastal. This was the most convenient location for me as it's near my house. It's also beautiful and full of nightlife which helped fill in pieces of our storyline. I filmed the boats getting tugged in and out of the docks. As well as walking along the docks. This was towards the evening, so once it got dark, I went into the city and filmed

Splicing is not a slice of pie!

Today I started editing the audio. I did this for my last project, the Inkjoy commercial.  My group trusts me to do this as I have a particular skill for matching up and getting the exact audio pitches correct. It has been a while since I have extracted audio, so I had to re-teach myself. I went on YouTube and looked up how to extract audios. Then it clicked, and I remembered what steps I had taken. I started by screen recording clips of the YouTube video baby by Justin Bieber. Then I went into editing software CapCut and extracted sounds from the screen recordings.  And then collected the audio slices from the videos downloaded them to the software. Once I had the audio slices, I had to figure out which order they would sound best. And in doing this, I partially remixed this song. I had to fade specific clips and adjust their decibels. Then I added new beats tube to unify the lyrics. I also added scratching from DJ boards to bring the pieces together with transitions.  This process

Friends Filming Fun Films

I filmed with my group today. I drove my group to the filming locations. I picked up one of the members from her house, and it was easy to find. Then the map app on my phone stopped working and told me the destination for the other home was 8 hours away. Then I had to pull over to the side of the road and use another app. I finally made it to the destination, and it only took me 20 minutes. I pulled into the spot and met up with the other group member. I went to a park near her house.   Once the group was together, I sat down and discussed and reviewed the game plan. I started by just sliding down slides and having fun. This was perfect as it gave the authenticity I think the group needed to loosen up and give the video the fun life it needed. Next, I swung on the swings and claimed the play structure. This was pretty embarrassing as it was a public park, and I am a 17-year-old child playing in front of children. None the less I persevered.  I also helped to film because we all took tu

The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule but schedule your priorities!

My group struggled with scheduling issues. I have a hectic schedule most days, as do my group members. Trying to find time to film has been a challenge for us. When I would be free, someone else wouldn't, and so on. I am very involved with my school, so I have been doing extracurricular activities after school most days. And one of our group members is a nail technician, so she's had nail appointments the days I have been free. Other days the third group member would not be able to find a ride to get to the filming location. The video also depended on people outside of the class to complete the idea we had in mind. So the group has to work around their schedule the most because they focus on the video idea. They are the siblings of our one group member and their girlfriend. They are both in sports so they have had sports games that have collided with when we can film.  This scheduling problem has forced us to stray slightly from the storyboard. The concept has moved slightly fr
