Back at it Again

 I've started editing the clips of the film together. The group has been making significant progress on the music video. I have finally finished the audio. And am now matching up the clips we got to the beats of the music, creating a story. However, the time is coming short and not how the video was envisioned. I went through the clips we had previously got, and they were out of focus and did not have a concise story. So each of us in the group is going out separately and doing more filming. I suggested we film separately because we could get the most filming time and work on our own schedules. 

I filmed at the local Fort Lauderdale Intercoastal. This was the most convenient location for me as it's near my house. It's also beautiful and full of nightlife which helped fill in pieces of our storyline. I filmed the boats getting tugged in and out of the docks. As well as walking along the docks. This was towards the evening, so once it got dark, I went into the city and filmed a few clips on an outdoor stage and a big water fountain. That's all I needed for my parts, but I assisted one of my group mates as well. She was filming herself rap as Ludacris, who is featured on the song with Justin Bieber. So I went to her house and helped her style the right outfit to fit the Hip-Hop style of Ludacris.  The final group member filmed at an arcade. She got clips of her and her sibling playing games. The group is now entering the final editing stages, and we have successfully collected enough clips for the music video.

   Now that we’ve finished filming, it’s time to head to our tried-and-true editing app, CapCut. We’ve used this for every project, and I’d like to think we were successful. The first step is adding the clips into the software in order. Despite how simple this may seem, searching through all the videos is difficult. We have to make sure it’s the right clip and place it in the right spot regarding the order. Then it’s time to eliminate time. That’s the most heartbreaking part. You spend hours acting, getting lines, and making sure your costume is correct. Only to have to cut scenes because they take us over time.   When we put the original clips together, we had 7 minutes and 42 seconds. A lot of time is extra. We start filming slightly before and slightly after to make we catch everything. So that cuts down a good chunk of time.   Camera angles High angle shots are used to show what is being looked down at as powerless and weak. Close up shots are included to focus on the character’s reaction to a scene. Tracking shots are used to show a character being watched or followed. Tilted angels often are added to add dramatic tension in a scene. Extreme long shots are used to show the setting and overall atmosphere of the place. Low angle shots are used to show a character having power and strength.
