High angles- Were used to make the character look vulnerable and powerless against the ghost.
Close up- Used to show the emotions in the actor's face. The horror in their eyes, for example, when digging through their late husband's stuff.
Reverse Shots- This was used to show a flashback in the film meaning it followed the convention.
Mis-en-Scene
Costume- The costumes are simple because it's about a mourning wife so her outfits are not elaborate.
Lighting- This movie uses lighting generously. It changes depending on what time of day and shows the differences between haunting. In this sense, it breaks conventions.
Actors- The actress in this film is very emotional its a physiological horror so its creeps you out in a strange way.
Make-up- The make-up in this is very simple contrary to many horror films it lacks in special effects makeup.
Props- This movie has its typical conventions it has a creepy doll and fake blood.
Setting- This movie is set in a lake house in upstate New York, where her husband has died. This fits the convention as horror films are usually set in remote areas.

Non-diegetic sounds include a brief voice over
Editing: There were several jump scares in the movie as well as optical illusions to bring the fear factor.
