The Three Stooges

  The time has come again, and my favorite step of the project picking my group. From an audience standpoint, I have always enjoyed films. My favorite films are Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Black Panther. I think these timeless cinematic masterpieces will live forever in fans' hearts. And I believe my group would agree with me in saying that. I chose to take this class again because I enjoyed it so thoroughly last year and wanted the same amount of fun for my last year of high school. I love working in groups because I am a natural leader and love to take charge, and I am looking forward to this filming project. 

  I hope to achieve a project that goes beyond expectations. I choose to work with Britanique Simpson and Sienna Zimmerman. I met Britanique during my freshmen orientation. She was the first person I talked to in high school and is my Best Friend. I met Sienna last year in chemistry class. She did he best to help me understand the course. I also knew Sienna from my AICE Travel and Tourism class. I helped her gain connections for the project around school that I had from student government. I decided on my groupmates because I had worked with Britanique previously, and I know Sienna can put in the hard work needed.

  The skills I contribute to the group are that I am good at setting up the shot according to the storyboard and ensuring the lighting is consistent throughout. I am also good at editing the audio to sound smooth and tuned. Britanique is the best at editing and smoothing out the clips to blend seamlessly. She did great at filming and had steady hands. She was also the best at creating animated text. Finally, Sienna is our actress. She was the actor in her project last year. My only concern is her tight schedule. However, I hope this project will be as successful as my other projects and that our skills will balance each other nicely.

Clips and Time Crunching

   Now that we’ve finished filming, it’s time to head to our tried-and-true editing app, CapCut. We’ve used this for every project, and I’d like to think we were successful. The first step is adding the clips into the software in order. Despite how simple this may seem, searching through all the videos is difficult. We have to make sure it’s the right clip and place it in the right spot regarding the order. Then it’s time to eliminate time. That’s the most heartbreaking part. You spend hours acting, getting lines, and making sure your costume is correct. Only to have to cut scenes because they take us over time.   When we put the original clips together, we had 7 minutes and 42 seconds. A lot of time is extra. We start filming slightly before and slightly after to make we catch everything. So that cuts down a good chunk of time.   Camera angles High angle shots are used to show what is being looked down at as powerless and weak. Close up shots are included to focus on the character’s reaction to a scene. Tracking shots are used to show a character being watched or followed. Tilted angels often are added to add dramatic tension in a scene. Extreme long shots are used to show the setting and overall atmosphere of the place. Low angle shots are used to show a character having power and strength. Point of view shots are included to capture the audience’s attention with what the character is seeing.
