Filming Blog: Auditorium
On Wednesday the 29th, we started filming but only had a limited time amount of time. One of our classmates had no one there from his group, so he offered to help us. We used him as a background actor to look like there was a crowd in the shot. We only managed to film two scenes. We filmed the first scene where Eden loses her pen. This shot was where we had almost everyone in our group be in the shot to create a looming sense of chaos. I was helping to stage out to see how it looked and putting my fellow actors in the proper position. That day, I saw a bright iguana, which caused us to get very distracted. He was sitting on a ledge above the stairs where we were filming. It was very sunny that day in which he was basking in the light. We also filmed the pen-dropping scene in which I dropped a pen, and it was recorded in slo-mo. The pen kept going over the rails of the stairs as we tried to get the best shot. For us, it was hard trying to focus and being serious while filming. But, we are trying to work on it as the pressure is closing in.
On Tuesday, the 5th, we picked up where we left off. We were trying to film the first transition of color, and it was unsuccessful. I could not get the shot right. Then an administrator passed by and offered to help us. He was excellent, did the shot perfectly, and helped work us through the issue with one of the angles for filming the second transition. After he left, we happened to see the same iguana today too. Then we filmed the third transition scene of color, and it was me throwing a pen as hard as possible, which I found fun. The final thing we filmed was another transition of colors which is an idea that came to us as someone had dropped their sweet potato fries during lunch. It matched the color of the orange pen, so we utilized the color and transitioned into the final shot. The last shot still needs to be filmed Thursday. It was convenient however because the weather was the same from the prior day so we did not have to worry much about the lighting except for getting the right amount of light while we were in the shade so it didn't cause a glare.
The picture is of the iguana, and the second one is of Eden and Isabel.
